Published guides describe one Chaser against a group of Runners. The Runners aim to complete three successful crossings while the Chaser catches them and grows the chasing team. The lobby, equipment, and map vote are the best things to inspect before your first match.
Your first five minutes: follow the screen
- Open the exact game. Check the creator is Huss Valley Official and the Place ID is
107535308163741. Do not use the controls from Ve3 or Escape Huss Valley. - Wait or spectate. When a match is in progress, watch from the lobby using SPECTATE. The lobby can also say “Waiting for players”.
- Learn the controls. Move with WASD and try the on-screen Space dash hint in a clear area. The Alt key has contradictory guidance—verify its behavior in your client.
- Check the HUD. The October 3 game screenshots place COINS and GEMS in the lower-left, with MENU and SPECTATE on the side and UPDATE LOG near the top.
- Find your role. Runners try to reach the opposite boundary; the Chaser tries to intercept. Read the current round objective before running.
- Move and make decisions. Acceleration takes time, so choose a first and backup lane. A caught Runner may be downed; nearby teammates are described as able to revive before conversion.
- Review the result. Secondary guides report performance-based Coins and Gems. Runners may also find Gems on the field; verify what your game shows.
- Vote and prepare. The Oct 3 walkthrough shows a brief map vote between The Valley and The Dunes, followed by equipment and shop choices. Vote length and map availability may change.
Playing a Runner
- Move toward the far boundary; the commonly reported match target is three crossings.
- Scout an escape lane before you accelerate; do not wait until the Chaser is on top of you.
- If a teammate is down and it is safe, consider the reported E interaction for revival; only the live UI can confirm when revival is available.
- Use the first crossing to learn the field, not as an excuse to buy untested upgrades.
Playing a Chaser
- Try to close the spaces Runners want to enter rather than only following their current position.
- Watch where a crowd bottlenecks; anticipate a turn before committing to a knife attack.
- Published guides say caught Runners may join the Chaser side on later crossings, creating more pressure.
- Practice without assuming any exact knife range or cooldown has been measured on this site.
Hero or Chicken: what changes?
Pro Game Guides and GAMES.GG describe a special prompt offered to a Runner: Hero means attempting a solo crossing for a reported extra reward; Chicken keeps the normal group play and forgoes that bonus. This is a guide-reported decision, not a claim that the same menu or reward is present in every server.
What should you buy after your first match?
First inspect the Items and Abilities tabs and your actual balances. October 3 shop screenshots show Banana Peel and Adrenaline in three-charge packs, both reported at 135 Coins; Inflatable Decoy was documented at 750 Gems. A player with few Gems may prefer to preserve them for a lasting ability and spend Coins on temporary items.
